Thursday afternoon L’Thai owner Pithya Kongthavorn finalized a deal that will bring his popular organic-inspired Thai concept to Smyrna. This will be L’Thai’s second location, the first is in Tucker.
“We’re going to call it L’Thai West,” says Kongthavorn.
L’Thai West will take over Yukaru Sushi & Steak (4500 West Village Place, Smyrna) in Smyrna’s West Village — a live, eat, play complex on Atlanta Road at I-285. An area called “Smynings” by those who live and work there because of its close proximity to Vinings.
At this outpost I’m told you can expect a wine bar, plenty of craft beer — possibly even draught beer, and liquor.
“We plan to take the beverage program to a whole new level,” claims Kongthavorn.
This location should bode well for L’Thai as Smyrna is an up and coming neighborhood with easy access from Buckhead, Midtown and downtown.
He recalls people waiting, five people deep, in front of this particular kiosk…not sure what was being sold, but caught up in the excitement he waited his turn to make it to the front. Having seen what looked delicious, When Neel was asked what to order he said he’d have whatever the guy before him had ordered. What he received was a giant Banana’s Foster crepe on a fourteen inch plate that he then brought back and shared with the rest of his family. Crepes were discovered.
As the name hints, Neel and Rob are reintroducing crepes with a noticeable twist – which they call the REVOLUTION. Crepes provide versatility. For proof, try their 5 Step Crepe Experience.
